- "Egypt’s Dar Al-Ifta is set to officially launch its global digital fatwa platform, Hasin, in the coming days, offering access to more than 10 million authenticated fatwas and a knowledge base containing over 30 million entries in Islamic sciences and Arabic linguistics."
- In Massachusetts, "the City Council will let a business slaughter and butcher chickens on Page Boulevard, after being assured the owner is experienced....'It is Halal, the Muslim tradition of slaughtering the food that we may eat, kind of like kosher' in the Jewish culture."

- In Pakistan, a recent "joint meeting of religious scholars, spiritual leaders and representatives of different faiths, organised by the National Paigham-e-Aman Committee...reaffirmed the consensus fatwa against suicide attacks, terrorism, extremism and the killing of innocent people."
- "A religious controversy has erupted over Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan's recent visit to the Kedarnath Temple in Uttarakhand [India]. Speaking to ANI, Maulana Mufti Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi, a Bareilly-based cleric and National President of the All India Muslim Jamaat, issued a fatwa terming her temple visit, prayers and rituals as 'impermissible' (najayaz) and 'haram' under Islamic law."
- In India, "the Bombay High Court has observed that religious conversion solely for the purpose of marriage cannot be permitted, while affirming an individual’s freedom to change religion."
- The Indian Supreme Court "held that conversion to Islam does not automatically make a person a member of a notified Backward Class Muslim community."
