  • "Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs vetoed a bill that would have strengthened the state’s protections against Sharia law."
  • The Egypt vs. Iran Men's World Cup match fell "during Seattle's Pride Week, a series of 2SLGBTQ+ festivities dating back to 1974 and celebrated in the final week of June...[both teams] asked for the celebrations to be cancelled, with the African side's football association saying it 'categorically rejects holding any activities related to supporting [homosexuality] during the match.'"
  • In Indonesia, "with mandatory halal certification set to expand significantly in October 2026, the Halal Product Assurance Agency (Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Produk Halal or “BPJPH“) has issued a new regulation detailing how administrative sanctions will be imposed on non-compliant business actors."
  • "Pakistan’s Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) on Tuesday reaffirmed its rejection of an Islamabad High Court (IHC) ruling that grants wives at least a 50 percent share in matrimonial assets. The council declared the judgment inconsistent with Islamic law and announced plans to challenge it before the appellate court."
  • "A canonist at the Metropolitan Tribunal of the Catholic Archdiocese of Nairobi (ADN) in Kenya has urged the Church in the East African country to seek amendments to the country's marriage laws after the High Court dismissed a petition from a Catholic man who sought to stop his wife from pursuing a civil divorce....He contended that Parliament had accommodated Islamic family laws through the jurisdiction of the Kadhis' Courts while failing to provide similar recognition to Catholic Canon Law, thereby violating Catholics' rights."
  • In India, "the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court recently struck down a Tamil Nadu government order that allowed a Hindu man from Backwards Classes, Most Backwards Classes, Denotified Communities, or Scheduled Castes to avail reservation benefits even after converting to Islam."
