- Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdul-Latif Derian, "called for distancing Lebanon from what is happening in sisterly Syria" in a conversation with Army Commander General Rodolphe Heikal, saying that "Dar Al-Fatwa will not allow Lebanon to be dragged into the abyss of hateful sectarian strife, which is forbidden by Islamic law. It is always committed to preserving Lebanese national unity and working to prevent strife in cooperation and solidarity with the Maronite and Orthodox Patriarchates, the Supreme Islamic Shiite Council, the Druze Sheikh Aql Leadership, and other religious and political authorities to prevent any unforeseen disruption."
- "The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of Blitar Regency has raised concerns over the rising trend of 'sound horeg,' a type of street entertainment characterized by extremely loud music, calling it 'a deviation from religious values and Eastern cultural norms.'"

CASES, FATWĀS, LEGISLATION ON ISLAMIC LAW - "The International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague issued arrest warrants for the Taliban's supreme leader, Hibatullah Akhundzada, and the group's chief justice, Abdul Hakim Haqqani, for crimes against humanity of persecution against women, girls, and others." In response, the Taliban stated that "they did not recognize the ICC and the warrants were an insult to Muslims. A Taliban spokesman said his leaders had established unparalleled justice based on Islamic law." Similarly, the "Taliban's Minister of Justice, Abdul Hakim Sharie, [recently] told Nanda Avalist, chargé d'affaires of the Indonesian Embassy in Kabul, that the Taliban's legislative framework is rooted entirely in Islamic law." - In Pakistan, the "Lahore High Court (LHC) held that Islamic law and [the] law of the land do not restrain a Muslim from gifting his property to the child who earned his trust and affection through personal service and care."

- "A Kenyan man, identified as Stephen Abdukareem Munyakho, has been released from death row in Saudi Arabia after spending 14 years behind bars, following the payment of $1 million in blood money (diyya) a landmark resolution under Islamic law that allows clemency if the victim's family accepts compensation."
