Camilo Gómez-Rivas is associate professor of Mediterranean Studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz. He is the author of The Almoravid Maghrib (Arc Humanities Press, 2023) and Law and the Islamization of Morocco under the Almoravids: The Fatwās of Ibn Rushd al-Jadd to the Far Maghrib (Brill, 2015). He is currently co-editing the Brill Companion to Medieval and Early Modern Seville.
