- In "The Renewing of Usul al-Fiqh: Challenges, Limitations and Future Directions" (Indonesian Journal of Islamic Economic Law 1, no. 2 (2024)), Alyasa Abu Bakar (Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry, Indonesia) and S. Sahman (Universitas Muhammadiyah Mataram, Indonesia) assert "that the classical usul fiqh method requires revision, especially in terms of the criteria for determining legal verses and the much-debated concept of nasikh-mansukh, so that the application of maqashid sharia and Hadith matan criticism is essential to ensure the relevance and validity of Islamic law in the contemporary context."
On Islam and Data Science - In "The Role and Position of Women in Islamic Law in Certain Countries" (Taklifi: Jurnal Hukum Islam 1, no. 1 (2024)), Riskiana Ahmad (UIN Fatmawati Sukarno, Bengkulu) and others, relying on a diverse range of methods, including surveys, find that "[w]hile the core principles of Islam emphasize equality and justice, the implementation of Islamic laws concerning women's rights has varied across different societies, leading to disparate experiences for women."
