Katherine Lemons is Associate Professor of Anthropology at McGill University, where she is also an Associate Member of the Institute of Islamic Studies and the School of Religious Studies. Her research and teaching are in the anthropology of secularism, religion, and law and the study of kinship. She is the author of Divorcing Traditions: Muslim Marriage Law and the Making of Modern India (Cornell University Press, 2019) and numerous articles.
